Printing methods: pad printing and UV direct printing

Every sign is printed before it is bent. Which method fits depends on quantity and artwork.

UV direct printing

For logos, colours and small runs.

The print head moves across the flat sign and applies the ink directly. UV light cures it instantly. There is no printing plate, so a single sign with a logo costs no more per piece than a small run.

Multi-colour artwork, photos, sponsor logos, QR codes and gradients are possible. Every sign can carry a different design.

  • Full colour without surcharge per colour
  • Economical from 1 piece
  • Every sign individual, e.g. changing sponsors
  • Resistant to abrasion, light and cleaning agents

Pad printing

For large single-colour runs.

A silicone pad picks up the ink from a printing plate (cliché) and stamps it onto the sign. The plate is made once and used for the whole run.

This is the most economical method for large quantities with the same artwork, for example sequential seat numbers in one colour.

  • Very even print
  • Economical for large runs
  • Classic black on white or white on black
  • Proven in daily event use

Printed, then bent: the finished profile.

Then it is bent

Print first, then shape.

Both methods print onto the flat sign. It is then bent for the specific chair model so the print sits exactly where it is visible. Optionally we add tactile Braille.

Which files do you need for a logo?

Ideally a vector file (PDF, SVG, EPS or AI). A high-resolution PNG or JPG usually works too; we check the file in advance.

Can I combine both methods?

Yes. For example seat numbers in pad printing and individual sponsor signs in UV printing, in the same typeface.

Does the print withstand cleaning?

Both methods are designed for daily event use and tolerate common cleaning agents.

What does each method cost?

That depends on quantity and artwork. Send us chair model, numbering and the logo if any; you receive a quote with the right recommendation.

Not sure which method fits? Send us quantity and artwork and we recommend one. Examples: logo and sponsor print, chair numbers, row signs.
